Studio Upgrade Release: Version 4

Dental Office Manager Studio is written in a 4th generation programming language, Omnis Studio. Each DOM Studio system is made up of 2 major components; the DOM Studio library, plus the Omnis Studio run-time or end user product. Just as we periodically update the DOM Studio program, the publishers of Omnis Studio periodically updates Omnis Studio. Typically this is every 5-10 years.

Recently, they released a major update, Omnis Studio vrs 4.x, which includes many changes and enhanced capabilities. These changes effect the Dental Office Manager Studio program dramatically; in everything from ACC’s development version down to your run-time product.

The enhanced development system of Omnis Studio will allow us to expand the DOM Studio software in many areas, including Internet and web based capabilities. It also provides native support for the new Macs that are based on the Intel chip.

Conversion to the Omnis Studio vrs 4 began on June 3, 2007. Shipping of the upgraded DOM Studio library and new Omnis runtime products is scheduled for early 3rd quarter 2007.

DOM II is DEAD…

Sad but true, the Dental Office Manager II product is officially dead. No changes or updates will be written, and technical support will be phased out in 2007.

Expanded Search Function for Insurance Plans

Color Coding in the Family Ledger

Tx Status and Phase available direct from the Day View window

Expanded Search function for Insurance Plans...

In the Patient's Record, a new "Find" button lets you search for plans by Group Number, Company Name, or Employer Name. Enter the complete name or number, or a partial name an number, and see your matches in a scrolling list.

Once you find the plan you want, you can easily enter it in the Patient's record. Or if need be, you can duplicate the plan, edit the appropriate info (like Group Number or Employer), and save the new plan in the Insurance File. Then it's ready for use now by the current patient and can be used by other patients in the future.

Color Coding expanded to Family Ledger Transactions

In the Patient File, on the Family Ledger tab, the transactions are now color coded for easy reference.

Treatment is blue, Notes are gray, Adjustments are yellow and Payments are green.

This is helpful when you are looking for a specific type of transaction.

Watch for more color coding throughout the program.

Tx Status and Phase available direct from the Day View window

Now on the Day View window, (Scheduling >Day View), you can update the patients Treatment Status and Phase quick and easy, without going to the Patient file and returning to the Scheduling window.

Keeping this info updated is critical for patient follow up. Since when appointments are made, changed or cancelled defines the treatment status, we added easy access to it here on the Day View window.
